Description
This book is a Rock and Roll Tribute to 134 Rock-n-Roll Legends Crossed the Rainbow in 2017 and left us wondering if the era of rock and roll is rapidly coming to an end. Rock-n-roll provided the soundtracks to our teenage years, our early adulthood and stayed with us when we became parent and sometimes even grandparents. But now the music that drove our entire culture in the 1950s, 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s is now fading in the rearview mirror. We’re losing more and more of the original trendsetting geniuses of rock and roll and their back up musicians to that great gig in the sky.
Original rocker Chuck Berry announced the era of rock and roll with his song “Roll Over Beethoven”, signaling a huge change in mainstream musical direction. Fats Domino was a superstar in the early years. Tom Petty and Gregg Allman had stayed with us for decades, when the final bell sounded. Walter Becker gave us a glimpse of where rock could go with Steely Dan. Chris Cornell was a second generation rockstar, but absolutely one of the great ones. This tribute book honors and celebrates the talents of those we lost in 2017.
“If you believe in forever, life is merely a one night stand. If there’s a rock and roll heaven, they’ve got a hell of a band.”
